Multi-Amp (Megger) Epoch IV

Relay calibration Test Set

Multi-Amp (Megger) Epoch IV
  • Multi-Amp® Model EPOCH-IVrM incorporates a microprocessor-based digital timer, regulated de voltage and current sources, and a special potential switching circuit. The EPOCH-IV is designed to be used with other members of the EPOCH family. It may also be used with Multi-Amp Model SSA-78 relay test set, States Co.® Ohm-Spun® resistor loads, or virtually any other type of relay test apparatus.
  • The timer is used to measure the elapsed time of operation of the relay under test and incorporates start and stop gates suitable for monitoring contact opening or closure, the "firing" of a trip circuit SCA, and the application or removal of an ac or de voltage signal. Appropriate circuitry is also provided to measure the dropout or pickup time of de voltageoperated auxiliary and timing relays.
  • The variable de current source is used to verify the proper operation of de targets, seal-in units, and operation indicators. The variable de voltage source is provided tor use with de auxiliary relays or as a logic supply for relays requiring a de logic voltage.
  • The potential switching circuit is provided to eliminate the numerous voltage lead changes required when testing the phase-to-phase element in three-phase distance relays such as the Westinghouse KO and SKD series of compensator distance relays.
